Kathryn Crowley

I make ink and gold leaf artworks from my studio in Gore, New Zealand.  I love the contrast between the dark ink and the glowing gold leaf.  The ink is often "painted" on although it does have a mind of its own, which I love, and the gold leaf is applied, sometimes in layers, and embellished further with fine ink details.  I want you to feel as though you have stumbled upon an old treasure trunk of art — luminescent, shifting and sparkling in the light.
